The accommodation at Reading Court comprises 45 one bedroom flats, of which 13 are suitable for couples.
Almost all the flats have walk-in showers and in the remaining flats a programme is in place to replace the baths with showers; they are heated by radiators from a central boiler.
The building is situated on the edge of Stratford-upon-Avon near the river. It is less than a mile from the town centre and there is a daily bus service from Reading Court; facilities such as doctors’ surgeries and dentists are located in the town centre. There is also a shop, pub and deli in Tiddington which is a 5 minute walk away.
Our Scheme Manager, Alan Smith, lives on the premises and is available Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm. All of our flats have emergency pull cords answered 24hrs a day giving peace of mind to our tenants and their families.
The scheme has a communal lounge, kitchen, laundry, lift and a guest bedroom for relatives and friends to stay; the residents can also enjoy the substantial garden.
The Mobile Library visits monthly and there is a hairdresser and chiropodist who can come to the residents’ flats.
Our voluntary House Committee comprising 7 local Freemasons and 2 ladies provide the day to day management of Reading Court with our Scheme Manager. They support various functions throughout the year.
The residents have a social Committee which arranges functions including lunches and teas and also coach outings. We also have a film club which operates monthly with equipment supplied by the House Committee.
