A Wonderful Summer BBQ at Prebendal Close

The Welfare Committee was delighted to host a summer BBQ for the residents of Prebendal Close, bringing everyone together for an afternoon of delicious food, sunshine and great company.

The BBQ was also a particularly enjoyable occasion for our Scheme Manager, Beverley, and her husband, Andre, who are newlyweds. With the many demands and excitement surrounding their recent wedding, the afternoon gave them a welcome opportunity to take some time out, relax and enjoy the company of the residents.

With the sun shining brightly, there was an excellent turnout, creating a wonderfully warm and sociable atmosphere. The BBQ offered a delicious selection of foods, accompanied by a variety of salads. There was certainly no shortage of food

Dessert was equally well received, with fresh strawberries and cream, followed by two delicious homemade cakes, both lovingly made by one of our residents.

The BBQ also provided an opportunity to make use of some of the items purchased by the Welfare Committee through the generous donations received from Lodges and associated Orders. The tables, chairs and parasols all contributed to making the event comfortable and enjoyable for everyone. On such a beautifully sunny day, the parasols were particularly welcome, providing some much needed shade for those enjoying the afternoon outside.

It was wonderful to see so many residents come along, sit together, enjoy the food and spend time chatting with friends and neighbours. The high attendance was a great reflection of the strong community spirit at Prebendal Close.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped organise and run the BBQ, to the Lodges and associated Orders whose generous donations have enabled the Welfare Committee to provide these facilities and activities, and of course our resident who made the two fantastic homemade cakes.

Most importantly, it was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon for everyone — residents, the Welfare Committee, Beverley and Andre alike. It was a lovely opportunity to relax, enjoy good food and good company, and make the most of a beautiful summer's day.

A great afternoon was had by all, and we look forward to many more happy gatherings at Prebendal Close.
